9th December 2022
Aqua Comms has appointed Jim Fagan as the new CEO to lead the next stage of growth of the business. Jim joins on 1 May 2023.
Aqua Comms is a carriers’ carrier providing subsea fibre-optic cable networks to customers that require exceptional reliability and performance. Over the last 8 years it has expanded from a trans-Atlantic cable construction project to become a leading connectivity company providing services on seven subsea fibre cables connecting North America to Ireland, UK and onwards to northern Europe and soon on the new EMIC1 route opening up from southern Europe to India. Having been acquired in 2021 by D9 Infrastructure PLC it is now focused upon further global expansion and welcomes Jim to lead this next stage of growth.
Jim is a transformative and proven technology executive with 25 years of experience in Telecom and IT spanning private and public companies across the US, Asia Pacific and EMEA. He has a track record across technology industries of leading strategy, growth and delivering commercial success. Jim joins from GCX where he has been Chief Strategy & Revenue Officer. He was previously with Telstra, Pacnet and Rackspace based in Asia and USA.
There will be a seamless handover from current CEO Nigel Bayliff who leaves the business on 30 April 2023. Nigel has achieved great success turning AC into a customer focused and profitable business with an enviable industry reputation. I thank Nigel for his enormous contribution to the success of Aqua Comms and wish him well on his next move in the industry.
