Wavelengths FAQ

1
Who is Wavelengths designed for?

Wavelengths - or DWDM - is high-capacity, long-haul connectivity used by networks with high-volume bandwidth requirements between key markets. Typical customers are Tier 1 carriers, OTTs, big-name content providers and enterprise-level operators.

2
I’m not sure if I need Spectrum or Wavelengths connectivity: what’s the difference?

Wavelengths services offer lit capacity at a fixed speed for customers looking for simple, scalable access to high bandwidth services. Spectrum solutions offer select customers access to a portion of our fibre pairs so they can manage and control lighting the bandwidth they require themselves.

3
My bandwidth requirements are growing rapidly: when will you be in a position to offer 800Gbps services ?

We’re constantly investing in our systems in response to customer demand: we were the first provider to offer 400Gbps in the Transatlantic and we’re on track to be the first provider to offer 800Gbps. So the answer is ‘as soon as possible’

4
Won’t a bigger provider be better placed to meet my needs?

Aqua Comms is an agile, boutique provider; giving us a level of flexibility to meet customer commercial needs and network requirements much more easily than our competition and with remarkable speed. We are transatlantic experts, constantly investing in our technology to ensure we remain at the forefront of transatlantic capacity requirements. To put it another way: we do one thing, and we do it very well.

5
How does your Wavelengths offer compare to other providers?

Ours is wholly owned and operated meaning we have complete control of the system from end-to-end. It enables us to offer lightning fast provisioning, and to ensure we’re always able to respond to our customers’ changing needs.

6
What guarantees do I have if your systems go down?

All technology runs into problems sooner or later: we believe that how you deal with them is the true measure of customer care. Our state-of-the-art NOC operates 24/7, meaning our team loses sleep so you don’t have to.
